My precious Zoe I miss you

My 13th birthday present in 1978 was the best ever. My first pony Zoe, a 2 year old skewbald cob filly bought for me by my father was to become my best friend for the next 30 years. Sadly at the grand old age of 32 on 1st November 2008 she was tired and her legs would not carry her any longer. It was the hardest decision I have ever had to make to let her go, absolutely heartbreaking but I know it was right . The vet was absolutely wonderful and sent a card not long after with some kind words of support and reassurance. There was a lovely picture of a Poppy on the front of the card (it being that time of year -November) and when a year later I became the proud owner of my first donkey, of course I just had to call her Poppy in memory of my old pony. Poppy has helped me so much with my grief after losing Zoe. Whilst my old friend is no longer with me Poppy reminds me of her so much with her loving and cheeky character. I just wanted to let people know that however heartbroken you may be at the loss of your horse or donkey, there is a place in your heart to share your love with another. God bless Zoe. x x x
